Well in every deal someone looses but there is always someone who wins right? Well if you thought that was true then you got to come to Bangalore!

Well the local film industry was doing very badly. So they decide to block an important street of the city for a couple of hours. The government felt bad for them and brought out a new law stating that all theatres in the city should only play movies in the local language, Kannada.

Well the theatres were not very happy about this but had no choice. So basically they decided to play only second run movies. Second run movie means that the movie had been released long ago and was being played for a second time in the theatres. See you never knew that useless piece of trivia! Mind you it was a bad movie that did terribly the first time around and this time around god only could have helped it! Well that was the method the theatres used to protest! You don't want them to break the law right?

Well the theatres soon realized that it was cheaper to close down the theatres and so they all went on strike and shut down for a couple of weeks! Now how can this get worse? All the other states have now decided that they will not run any movies in Kannada because their movies were not being run in Bangalore!

So who wins now? All the theatres in Bangalore lost money... Movies that would have otherwise run are not making money. Kannada movies can't make money outside this state, not that they were making much anyway! Most of all we the people are affected! We are forced by law to watch bad movies!
